Country legend Charley Pride died on Saturday in Dallas, Texas from coronavirus complications. He is best known for his hits Kiss An Angel Good Mornin’, Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone and Mountain.
Tributes have flooded in for the country legend on Twitter this evening.
Mayor Mark Boughton wrote: “RIP #CharleyPride a legend of country music.”
Raymond Arroyo commented: “What a loss. Rest in Peace, Charley Pride.”
David Carroll penned: “RIP #CharleyPride, who was 86.
“I will always believe the fact that this man dominated country music in the 1960s and 1970s was one of the greatest entertainment achievements in history.
“Incredibly, no one ever made a movie about him.”
Charley gave his final performance last month during the CMA Awards show at Nashville’s Music City Center.
