Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree shared their Christmas Day plans with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning’s festive special. However, as Angel revealed what activity they’ll be doing a lot of over Christmas, Dick cheekily hit out at his wife.

Phillip began: “All lots of local produce, you’ve got the people around you and so you’ve sent us some stuff over. What do we have here?”

Dick replied: “We’re just below Normandy and we’re in an area that has the highest density of cows in France.

“Cheese is important so we’ve got camembert and the goat’s cheese is very special but not very well known.”

Phillip and Holly tucked into a section of cheeses chosen by Dick and Angel before moving onto sparkling wine.

“You’ve also suggested something which I think is a really good suggestion, a brilliant alternative to champagne,” Phillip said.

“You can go for Prosecco, you can go for Cava from other countries but Cremant de Loire is an incredible alternative to champagne.”

Dick remarked: “It is so easy to drink which is really worrying but that’s local to us.

“It’s one of those things Cava has become popular so has Prosecco but the French they’re known for their sparkling and Cremant de Loire is pretty special.”

Earlier in the interview, Holly and Phillip quizzed the couple on the festive special of their show.

Holly said: “Tonight on Channel 4 your show is back on this is Escape to the Chateau at Christmas.

“It’s going to be absolutely glorious and this was inspired by something you discovered in one of your outhouses, what was that?”

“It’s a pair of ice skates,” Angel revealed.

“Have you got somewhere you can skate?” Phillip asked. “ Looking at the Chateau and the ground and how beautiful it is, do you have a lake?”

“The moat has frozen over in the past,” Dick revealed. “We’ve actually got a lot of water around the place.

“The whole Christmas time is special here because it’s a place to party and enjoy yourself.”

“It’s a magical time for the children,” Angel revealed. “Arthur and Dorothy being six and seven-years-old they are so excited.

“Christmas does not start in France until the first of December when we put the tree up and it’s a big journey for them up until Christmas Day.”

Escape to the Chateau at Christmas airs tonight on Channel 4 at 8.10pm. This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
