The Chase: Bradley Walsh left gobsmacked at rude ‘Sticky Willy’ answer ‘Winding me up!’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

The Chase is famous for its innuendos and tongue-in-cheek questions with host Bradley Walsh and the Chasers often bursting into hysterics after being caught off-guard. Tonight’s festive celebrity special was no different when Coronation Street star Patti Clare stepped up to the table to take on Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace. In fact, Bradley was so taken aback by one particularly cheeky question, he claimed the ITV soap star was “winding him up” when she opted for a rude-sounding answer.

Coronation Street’s Patti joined fellow celebrities Matt Richardson, Kirsty Wark and Jimmy Osmond for tonight’s festive edition of The Chase.

Hoping to pocket some cash for their chosen charities, Patti got off to a rocky start, only racking up £3,000 in her cash-builder.

Nevertheless, Patti wasn’t deterred and when Shaun offered her a high offer of £30,000, she stood her ground and stuck with the £3,000.

And Patti made it all the way back to the Final Chase, but not before a hilarious back and forth with host Bradley.

Reading aloud one of Patti’s questions, Bradley began: ”Which of these is another name for the Galium aparine plant?”

The possible answers on offer were Clingy Timmy, Hairy Terry, or Sticky Willy.

Laughter quickly filled the ITV studio as Bradley removed the beard from his costume to let out a laugh to camera.

“I love these shows!” Bradley added through his laughter before turning to Patti to see what answer she’d selected.

And soon after, Patti made it back to the table and added £3,000 to the prize fund.

Matt was up next and wowed Bradley and ITV viewers alike by earning £9,000 in his cash-builder.

However, not satisfied with the amount, Matt went high and took on Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha for a staggering £60,000.

Matt kept up his impressive form and romped home, taking the prize fund up to £63,000 with two celebs still to play.

However, neither Kirsty nor Jimmy could replicate Matt and Patti’s success and both were caught by Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett and Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty.

Patti and Matt put up a stern fight in the Final Chase, racking up 18 steps between them and their £63,000 for charity.

However, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan proved worthy opposition as she caught the two with just seconds eft to spare.

The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
